Theme: FINDING BASIC WELL-BEING
Basic well-being is our birthright.
How can this be when there are so many ups and downs in our lives? How can this be in times of sickness or anxiety or sadness?
Well-being doesn’t depend on our lives being perfect, or even being as we would want them to be. It doesn’t depend on being pain free or free of troubling thoughts. It doesn’t depend on getting rid of our difficulties.
Basic well-being can be found through working with how we relate to our struggles, not through eliminating them. True resilience is possible when we are able to surf the ups and downs of life like waves. We can’t control the sea, but we can learn to surf.
